Email Fraud

I was just over to Deidre Knights blogspot and she has posted a warning for authors and others in the business.
It seems that someone has been mass emailing e-pubbed authors with offers of representation by the Knight Agency.
This is a lie. Ms Knight has not issued any such emails and she has no plans to back up this person's fradulent claim.
This person is not Ms Knight, nor any representative of her agency.
Ms Knight asks that anyone who receives such an email please contact her immediately.
I am enclosing a link to her blogspot so that should you or anyone you know receive such an email you'll know exactly where to send it.
Geez, we just can't get a break, can we?
It's bad enough that we get rejections and snubs, now we are subjected to frauds!
This is some business we're in, huh?
Anyway, here's the link to Deidre Knight's blog: http://knightagency.blogspot.com/

On a brighter note, I was recently informed that Riverdale Books has accepted two of my short stories for a new anthology and guess what? I actually get paid for these!! Finally.
Okay all, signing off for now. Have a great day and,

Linda

Email fraud!!

Tuesday, September 28, 2004

Well, another wasted day!!

SEEMS THAT WRITING THESE DAYS IS TAKING A BACKSEAT TO JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING!

Today was spent making dog beds, visiting with out of town guests and getting dogs ready for the dog show in Knoxville this weekend.

Sooner or later I'm gonna have to get back to Caney Creek!

Oh, the new anthology, Romancing the Soul, compiled and edited by Dorothy Thompson will be available in print in just a few days!!

Talk about psyched!! Boy howdy!!

Linda L Rucker Posted by Hello

Monday, September 27, 2004

Well, I didn't write a single word today. I was too busy finishing up a quilt I'm making. Finally got it done and off to the quilters. I really have too much to do to hand quilt this one.
Anyway, Caney Creek is coming along, slowly, but surely. If I didn't have the other two nagging at me, I could devote more time to finishing Caney Creek, but when the muse calls, the muse demands to be answered. What's a body to do?
Tomorrow I'll be working on Caney Creek. I really have to get that one finished.
My agent got me another shot with another publisher. I sent off a copy of the mss for Dark Ridge last week. Crossing my fingers on this one.
I swear, it truly amazes me how involved the process for getting published is. Oh well, you do what you can and hope for the best, right? Right.
Okay, so more tomorrow.
Keep writing,
Linda
